Greetings From Paradise

I am now at Gili Trawangan, which is often described as paradise. I was here a little over a year ago as well, and things have changed. There's more hotels and resorts, but the basic energy of the place is still the same. I met up with Tom and Francesco in Kuta, where I spent two nights with them, and then we left for Gili T. We have now been here two nights, and I've loved every second of it. We eat at the local food market every night, where you get the best indonesian food in the world for around 2$. At the moment we are being nerdy at a restaurant on the beach. In front of me I have Gili Meno, and a bit further away, Lombok. Most importantly though, the ocean is everywhere. All the Gili islands are tiny, it's about 7k to walk around Gili T, which is the biggest one, so the ocean's influence is felt everywhere. Today we went on a snorkelling trip around all three islands, and I loved every second of it. We saw the coolest fish, turtles, corals and starfish. I could have stayed in the water all day, but the entire trip was "only" around 5 hours, with an hour long lunch break on Gili Air. I feel so at home in the ocean, I sometimes forget that, and I just simply love being reminded of it. So to wrap this up, even though my heart has a GIANT hole from the people I left in Sydney, I feel pretty, if not happy, then at least content at the moment. But I think we can use happy today, thanks to the ocean in front of me.

Love.
