During the past few days I have been working, partying and sleeping, in a not very smart mix. We went out on Wednesday, which was super fun, as usual. We spent a lot of time with a few of our neighbors, or soon-to-be flatmates, as we will be relocating to an apartment one floor down in about a week. It was fun, because we hardly ever hang out with anyone except our flatmates, so it was good to broaden our social circle within the building a little. The next day at work (this would be Thursday) was a little less fun. I still learned a lot though, so it felt good. After work we went to Bondi Junction for pizza and a movie with almost our entire building. The pizza was awesome, but the movie, not so much. We ended up seeing The Grey with Liam Neeson, whom I really like otherwise, but this movie was shit. It was about a plane that crashes somewhere in Alaska, and then the rest of the movie is about how the few surviving men get chased by a pack of wolves and killed off one by one, except of course for Mr Neeson. One of the worst movies I've seen in a longlong time.
On Friday I worked as well, my first real shift. I went in at 6.45am. I was so not missing those early mornings, but I guess I'll just have to live with it. Romina and I worked all day, and I felt like I was messing up more than I was succeeding, but I guess I'll get there at some point. We went out for "a beer" in the evening, and I ended up staggering in at home at about 3 or 4 in the morning. Awesome seeing that I was working Saturday as well. So Saturday at work was again not a very good day, but I was getting more and more accustomed to working there, and just doing something kind of takes away the hangover. After work I just slept on the couch for hours, and then proceeded to spend my evening eating and being ultra lazy. Imran and me ended that exciting Saturday by watching a movie, because I had to be at work today at 6.30am. Today I already felt a little more confident in what I was doing, as Romina wasn't complaining as much anymore either. The only feedback I got from today was that I have to interact more with the customers, which will be a lot easier once I know the coffees and the menu properly. The most awesome thing about all of this though, is that I will get paid tomorrow. Can't wait! The new room Sandra and I will be moving into is apparently also cheaper than the one we have now, so that's good. Oh, and I might have a new surfing buddy/teacher.
Off to bed to sleep now! Then going for a run and maybe a drink later on!
